Lihatukku Tamminen
Lihatukku Harri Tamminen Oy was established in 1994, and the Tamminen family is the third generation to work in the meat industry. Many meat industry operators use machines to increase efficiency, but Tamminen still strongly believes in craftsmanship. Instead, efficiency was sought by managing numbers rather than by manual work.
The collaboration with Aamu Partners took off in February 2021, when CEO Pasi Tamminen heard positive feedback from his fellow CEOs about the use of Clarity. Tamminen, too, wanted to better understand where they were going with the numbers – and thus improve the profitability.
Products, factors, production and facilities were translated into tangible business figures
Previously, Lihatukku Tamminen did not have a uniform business monitoring system, but everyone interpreted SAP reports in their own way. For Tamminen, the cooperation with Aamu Partners helped in many ways. For example, the productivity of Tamminen’s production facilities can now be monitored at an accurate level. Prices, costs, revenues, margins of different products are now accurately monitored in relation to targets. With continuous monitoring, it is possible to see immediately whether things are going well in each production facility.
“Information creates equality. This is no longer about the leadership of a creative CEO, because Clarity brings a sense of proportion. Managing with real numbers is more reliable. Hours worked, weights of product and sales volumes are now right on target. We now know how our different units are performing“, says Pasi Tamminen, CEO.
A great tool for senior management
At Lihatukku Tamminen, Clarity has been found to be a great tool for senior management. A big advantage has been to have the entire business development visualized in one place. Pasi Tamminen feels that Clarity works well at the level where he understands where things are going at any given time. Along the way, additional functions have been added to Clarity as needed, and now the whole partnership works fine.
“We are all food professionals, not economists. I’ve seen other tools like this before, but they didn’t have the ability to explain the numbers in a very concrete way like we have to do in our business. We wanted a holistic tool, and that’s what we got,” says Pasi Tamminen.
Pasi Tamminen likes the fact that the teams of Aamu Partners and Tamminen meet once a month in a Teams meeting to review the most important figures together.
“Now we can go over the previous year’s figures with the whole management team and compare them with the current situation. The Aamu Partners team can immediately ask the right questions and spot the essential changes. I think it’s good that the software also comes with an actual person” says Pasi Tamminen.
Cooperation emphasizes a sense of ease
Pasi Tamminen believes that successful collaboration is born from mutual learning, questioning and a sense of ease.
“Julia from Aamu Partners said that – we’ll take care of everything – and they have managed to get everything done in a wonderful way. There’s just such an ease about everything. We’ve learned a lot from the team. They have certainly learned from us, because they can also question what we do. We have created a good symbiosis,” says Pasi Tamminen.
Tamminen has been so extremely satisfied with the cooperation that they don’t really want to change it, but continue along the same lines.
“Once the wheel starts turning, why should we break it? We now have a functioning system. Let’s not make things complicated. And you don’t have to develop for the sake of development, but only for the sake of need, as we have done. I can’t really wish for anything more from our cooperation,” Pasi Tamminen sums up.
This cooperation seems like a results machine. It's incredibly hard to think of anything negative to say.Pasi Tamminen, CEO, Lihatukku Harri Tamminen Oy
