A-T Lastenturva
Brief Overview:
A-T Lastenturva has been serving its customers in all aspects of children’s product purchases for 30 years. Along with its online store, the company has physical stores in Vantaa, Helsinki, Jyväskylä, and Oulu.
The partnership with Aamu began in autumn 2020 as the worst of the COVID situation was easing. Although A-T Lastenturva’s finances were in good shape, the company sought an analytical approach to business development. By the end of the year, the first visible results of the partnership were evident, and the collaboration was gaining momentum. With Aamu’s support, A-T Lastenturva expanded its services to include B2B sales and evaluated new options for international and national expansion.
Spar and Solid Analytics from Aamu Partners
At a quick glance, everything at A-T Lastenturva was going well when the partnership started last autumn. Despite the COVID situation, the year had been record-breaking for the company. In 2019, A-T Lastenturva had also expanded its operations with two new stores, and business had begun to recover from the initial impact of the pandemic. The company had even managed to avoid major layoffs.
However, owner and CEO Mika Rimpiläinen lacked a sparring partner for developing the company’s big picture and strategic implementation. As a result of COVID, the importance of online sales for the company’s turnover increased, becoming a key development focus. The management sought better visibility into their operations and Aamu’s insight for making the right strategic moves for optimal growth.
Regular Monitoring for Better Grip on the Future
The collaboration between Aamu and A-T Lastenturva started in October 2020 under the Clarity service. Initial workshops set the goals and expectations for the collaboration.
“Analysis was important for us: we had four stores, and there had been no store-specific comparison or profitability calculations before,” Mika describes the initial situation.
A key goal was to improve and regularize business monitoring. Mika wanted more goal-oriented action: together, Aamu and Mika evaluated new business models, compared product categories, refined sales focus, and increased marketing budgets.
Together Towards New Goals
By the summer of 2021, the benefits of the collaboration were clearly visible in A-T Lastenturva’s daily operations. Business adjustments were significant, and the main goals set at the beginning of the partnership were achieved:
To monitor profitability, a profitability budget was created for each A-T Lastenturva location. At the same time, Aamu’s team helped Mika create the first sales budget for all locations. He gained a decision-making tool from the Clarity software. Data previously in PDF files became more useful information for management through Aamu’s data analysis.
Perhaps most notably, A-T Lastenturva expanded its market. With Aamu’s guidance, the company shifted its focus to B2B sales in addition to retail. The collaboration between Aamu and A-T Lastenturva continues under the Clarity service.
