The collaboration between Aamu Partners and Pielisen Pojat began in late April 2021. At the start of the partnership, Pielisen Pojat’s CEO, Sari Kiiskinen, described to Aamu that the company’s challenges included constant busyness and making the business profitable.
Pielisen Pojat sought Aamu’s help to focus on key operations and gain tools for improving cash flow. They also wanted support for strategic thinking. Aamu’s Clarity partnership provided the missing pieces they needed; it allowed for the analysis of all company activities and guided their efforts in the right direction.

Pielisen Pojat is a local, small earthworks company operating in Lieksa and its vicinity. The company supplies high-quality earth materials like gravel, soil, and crushed stone to customer work sites. They also offer crane transfers of building materials and wheel machine services, such as loading and unloading cargo.
The company has been operating for a long time, and the purpose of sharpening business operations was to ensure the continuity and future success of the business. There were no significant growth targets at this point. Until now, the management had been so busy at work sites that they hadn’t sufficiently engaged in business development. Therefore, outsourced data analysis brought the desired relief to the company’s daily life.

In workshops with Aamu, the focus was immediately on sales figures, cost structures, and labor hours, as Sari wanted better visibility into the financial metrics of different business areas. She preferred data-based strategic actions rather than intuition.
With Clarity, customer-specific profitability was first analyzed in detail. This revealed the different business areas and allowed for their comparison.
The analysis will enable the elimination of unprofitable customers and operations in the future, focusing on productive work. The Clarity collaboration also helped in correcting pricing where necessary and creating more precise new contracts.

Based on ideas from Aamu, future billing will be done in a way that brings a certain security and predictability to the cash flow. Clarity provides assistance in financial planning.
Next, the plan is to build future forecast models to support the business of Pielisen Pojat. Additionally, some development ideas for the future will be reviewed. For instance, employee reward models have been drafted, and the Clarity collaboration could also be helpful in considering necessary recruitments.
